Drysdale Library re-opened to the community on 14 November 2011 following a major refurbishment that enabled a 30% increase in public space, refreshed collections, an increase in computers, an after-hours returns chute and a new look Council customer service area. The official Open Day was held on Thursday 3 February 2012. Mr David Morris, MP and Chair of the Ministerial Advisory Council on Public Libraries, Cr John Mitchell, Mayor and Cr Rod Macdonald, Councillor representing Cheetham Ward and immediate Past Chair of the Geelong Regional Library Corporation declared the facility officially open.
